Attorney Bonnie L. Amendola received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1988 and graduated, cum laude, from the University Connecticut School of Law in 1992. She was admitted to practice in Connecticut and the United States District Court for Connecticut in 1992.
Bonnie has practiced law for over 25 years in the fields of commercial litigation, criminal defense and family law. In 1998, Bonnie founded the law firm of Amendola & Amendola, LLC with her Mother, Elaine S. Amendola, one of the preeminent trial and family law attorneys in the State. She has practiced exclusively in the area of family law since that time. She has extensive experience in all aspects of matrimonial law including high conflict child custody cases, prenuptial and post nuptial agreements, large and complicated asset cases, spousal and child support matters. Bonnie has worked with financial experts, forensic accountants and business valuators in cases with complicated assets or closely held businesses. Bonnie can be found at her office at Conlon Amendola, PLLC, focused on bringing quality counsel to families.
Throughout her practice, Bonnie has been a dedicated advocate for children. She was one of the first lawyers to represent children in family cases in Connecticut, serving extensively as both an attorney for minor children and as guardian ad litem. Bonnie has been served many times as a certified court appointed representative to protect the interests of minor children when they are at risk in a contentious custody matter. She has worked with psychiatrists, psychologists and forensic custody evaluators to ascertain the proper remedy for each child she serves to protect.
Bonnie is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, where she currently serves as Vice President of the Connecticut Chapter. Bonnie regularly serves the Connecticut Superior Court as Special Master in family cases, including contested custody matters before the Regional Family Trial Docket. Bonnie is an AAML certified Arbitrator and has acted as a private mediator in family cases. She has also served as a Parent Coordinator to assist parents in resolving their custody and parenting disputes post dissolution.
Bonnie is an active member of the American Bar Association, Family Law Section, Connecticut Bar Association, Family Law Section, the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association and the Fairfield County Bar Association. She is also a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.
